REVIEW: Rent Me was one of those books where I found myself getting into the characters as much as the plot — and sometimes, I wanted to bang their heads together. I absolutely love flawed characters; it’s a common theme in all of the books I adore. Brennen is a bit of a brat, and Dmitri is a bit oblivious, and Nika… Ah, I wanted to send her packing right back to Russia. The character I loved the most was Mischa, Dmitri’s brother; ever dutiful, he goes to extremes to make sure that he does right by Dmitri, but he’s good at what he does.

This book definitely isn’t for people who expect everything to be perfect; this relationship is anything but. However, that’s the way life is, and that’s the way things need to be in order for there to be growth. The author’s style may not be for everyone, but I for one enjoyed the read and can’t wait to pick up the next one.

RATING: I really liked it.

The story begins when 13 learns he has to put his sub, Viper 44, through specialized training that entails torture and sexual abuse. Though 13 fears his command has learned about his secret relationship with 44, he goes through with the punishment. He hates having to hurt 44, but he follow his command’s orders, doing his best to conceal the fact that he and 44 are lovers. Once they make it through their ordeal, they’re faced with danger neither had expected.

Such a hot short story. I was a bit weirded out by the names being numbers considering I just finished reading another sci-fi book with numbers for names. However, I got over it quickly and became immersed in the story. Though most of the torture between 13 and 44 wasn’t graphic, things did get a bit tense and harsh in the end. I enjoyed the ending and the tenderness of their relationship after everything was said and done. I recommend this free read to anyone who likes m/m dark erotica.

This was the first book I’ve read by Amelia C. Gormley, and I wasn’t at all disappointed. Risk Aware begins when the hemophiliac, Geoff, who is also a masochist is at a leather club/resort dreaming of all the things he wants a dom to do to him. He knows all he can do is dream since any strike to his body will likely start internal bleeding that wouldn’t stop and may lead to his death. However, Geoff grew up with his mother treating him like a china doll, and he wishes he could just let go and have the pain he craves. When Geoff meets Robin, his dreams appear to be coming true. He can trust Robin to touch him in the right ways, being just rough enough to alight his fantasies without putting him in danger of starting a bleed.

I have to admit that I approached this book with caution. I’m not a huge fan of needles and the sight of blood used to make me faint. So, reading a book about a masochistic hemophiliac had me cringing before I even read the first page. Despite my caution and reservations, I read this novel without crawling out of my skin. There were some scenes with needle play that I tried not to visualize too much, but other than that I was able to enjoy this book with a minimal amount of cringing. Though Geoff and Robin had to tone down what they were able to do in the bedroom, the scenes were all very hot. There was always the fear of Geoff braking somehow, and even though they had to be extremely careful, they did get a little rough at times which had me on edge. Overall, this novel was romantic, hot, and laced with plenty of danger. I can’t say I’ve read a BDSM book before where the stakes were so high and each scene could be a matter of life or death. I recommend Risk Aware to anyone who enjoys BDSM, medical play, and m/m romance.

REVIEW:

Extraordinary dark erotica! The plot thickens with book 3 which begins with Kaleb’s realization that he desires the discarded doxie, Aaron. Though there is a lot of sex in this book, it’s all very hot, and I never once tired of it. In addition to Kaleb’s training, Leo learns more about the plot which brought Kaleb into being, and Leo throws the other gods for a loop by making an unexpected doxie request.

This was an exciting and erotic addition to the Bound Gods series. Kaleb is taken to new heights and his limits stretched even further, while Leo continues his plan of weaponizing Kaleb’s ambrosia so no god but Leo can touch him. I enjoyed learning more about the god’s plotting, and revelations about the mysterious monster targeting doxies is starting to give me ideas about where things might be going. Though I felt bad for what Kaleb had to endure, I enjoyed the exciting way that this book ended. I look forward to reading the next installment in this series.

RATING: I loved it!

Such a hot and romantic way to end the series! Spanked in the Woodshed begins at a point when Shane gets caught for skipping his classes. Shane is being followed by a scary looking guy at school, but he’s afraid to tell Julien about it. To complicate matters, Julien’s attempt to help a sub who’s in a bad position leads to Shane having doubts about where things stand between him and Julien. Shane’s subsequent actions and Julien’s fear of losing Shane, put Julien in a bad place. He’s never had feelings for any sub like he has for Shane, and he can’t stand the thought of anyone touching him. Despite the bumps in their path, their relationship remains strong while they work to head off the danger they face from Shane’s stalkers.

This book was extremely hot! There’s a lot of sex as well as BDSM scenes, but Shane and Julien never lose their flame. Out of all three books, I think I liked this one the best. Julien is still Shane’s dom, but he’s not as strict and their roll playing is extremely sweet. Julien also has a sense of vulnerability that he didn’t have in the previous books, which seemed to make their relationship even more romantic. I especially loved the happy ending. I recommend this book to anyone who loves BDSM, m/m erotica, dark erotica, and m/m romance.

Holly crap, this was beautiful! I loved every page. The book began with a glimpse of Grif and Wes together. They are playing a D/s game that involves humiliation and edging, and though it seems like Wes is being sadistic, both of them completely love what they are doing. Wes is in love with Grif’s tears and nothing turns Grif on more than suffering for Wes. The book goes on to show Grif’s college years and his first love, Tate, who’s a straight guy. Grif’s relationship with Tate is really quite fascinating; one that takes cock worship to a whole new level.

Though the book jumped forward and backward in time, I never felt disoriented or lost. It seemed like the natural way to present Grif’s story. Grif’s character was amazing. I loved him so much. I felt his pain and also experienced the beauty of his submission. It has been a while since I’ve read a book with such a vulnerable submissive and such tender D/s scenes. Tate and Wes were also exceptional. Everything about this book was steaming hot. I really cannot wait for book #2. I feel teased and denied just having to wait for it to come out. I recommend this book to anyone who loves Dark Erotica, high quality BDSM, and M/M Romance.
