Business school is not for Daniel. Not after making the cover of Teen Model. The only problem is that his parents don’t agree, and Daniel skips school to set his plans for fortune and fame in motion. Meeting the award-winning photographer Heimli will change his life, but not in the ways the nineteen-year-old young man expects.

At the age of four hundred thirty-six, Seldon has fed on more beautiful men than he can remember. Living in seclusion from the human world, humans are brought to the Incubi and Succubi as slaves to feed on. Amongst these slaves are the rare Untouchables. When Seldon is entrusted with the safekeeping of one, he has his work cut out for him—especially since this Untouchable gets on his nerves. And under his skin.

REVIEW:

First of all, I just have to say that I am quite fond of incubus story-lines, so this book started out on the right track for me. The story begins when the young model, Daniel, decides he’s going to go get discovered. He’s fed up with his parents talking about him going to college since he’s sure his looks can get him everything including fame. However, instead of landing a modeling job, Daniel is captured by a group of incubi. He quickly discovers that he is considered an untouchable, which means he doesn’t get worked over like some of the other less fortunate young captives. Even so, the fear of what could happen to him almost puts him over the edge.

Though this is the first book I’ve read from Meraki P. Lyhne, I had the pleasure of meeting the author this summer in Berlin, so I had a good idea about what to expect. All of the wonderful dark themes that I love so much were present in this book as well as a good healthy dose m/m/m erotica. I think the thing I loved the most was the sexual denial. Daniel, is deliberately excluded from all the incubus feeding going on in front of him. He considers himself straight, but after a while, he can’t deny being turned on by everything his captor does with other men. I wasn’t sure how things would play out for Daniel, so I was a bit shocked by the twist in the end. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

RATING: I loved it!

Review: Puppy by R. Phoenix #MM #DarkErotica #Dystopia

TITLE: Puppy Puppy

AUTHOR:  R. Phoenix

PUBLISHER: Self-Published

LENGTH: 61 Pages

BLURB:

While other vampires glut themselves on the rewards of a world where humans are little more than food or entertainment, Liam has found himself bored with the new status quo. An attempt to alleviate his boredom brings him to Caleb, a man who’s willing to do what it takes to get out of the slums–even if it means becoming something less than human.

REVIEW:

This was a short but delicious story. Since I’ve read a few of the author’s books set in the same world, it was very easy for me to fall into this book. Puppy begins with the four hundred-year-old vampire, Liam, out on the prowl for something to fit his tastes. In his world, human’s have pretty much lost their appeal, but when he finds Caleb, he sees the potential in him. Though Caleb is bisexual and a top when it comes to men, he’s quite turned on by all the demeaning things Liam wants to do to him.

Though I’m not that into puppy play, the way R. Phoenix presents it in this book makes it very appealing. I like that how Caleb is taken without given a choice about it, but he’s not so reluctant because everything Liam does to him is so arousing. Overall, this story was great. I was a little bit surprised when it ended, so my only complaint is that I wanted to see more of them together. I recommend this book to anyone who loves M/M Dark Erotica and fantasy.

However, when Malkhaz takes what should have rightfully been his in a single hasty decision, Elias is determined to make the vampire pay. REVIEW:

This book was amazingly and extremely vicious. I loved the last book, but this is definitely my favorite in the series so far. I don’t really know how to review it without giving away too much since the book starts out with a surprise. So, I’ll just say that things get pretty dark for some of the characters in previous books. I imagined it was dark for them already, but their situation just gets worse before it gets better. Elias takes his sadism to an entirely new level in this installment, making an already tricky social situation impossible. I probably couldn’t get more cryptic with this review, but just expect a lot of mind fucks, non-con, and angst. Really, Elias is such an ass, I’m just waiting for him to get a taste of his own medicine. I recommend this book to anyone who likes m/m dark erotica.

Note: This isn’t a standalone. It must be read in order or nothing will make sense.

Over the past decade, Khaz has watched as supernatural creatures like himself have turned the world into their own personal playground. Unlike the others, he didn’t benefit from the Takeover, and every time he sells himself to keep a roof over his head, he’s keenly aware of that fact. His landlord, a renowned slaver, offers him the chance to catch up on his rent by breaking a human.

Groomed to fight, Noah has survived by giving himself over to his hatred of those who took everything away from humanity. When the werewolf can’t break him, he’s given to the vampire instead-and he’s sure this will be no different. The problem is that even the harsh lessons the Rebellion taught him couldn’t prepare him for someone like Khaz…who always has an ace up his sleeve.

REVIEW:

Beautiful and tragic. The world is the same as in the first part of the series, but this time the characters are Khaz, a vampire who trains human slaves, and Noah, a human who has been captured and must be prepared for his new role serving supernaturals. ThoughKhaz has trained many humans before, Noah is a fighter who is far from being submissive and Khaz tires of breaking humans, especially when he finds the fight in Noah so attractive. Khaz dreams of being able to keep the human instead of breaking his will for his supernatural masters; however, Khaz can barely afford his rent, let alone paying to house a human.

I loved this dark romantic fantasy. When Khaz and Noah come together its like magic. Khaz has the power to make any human addicted to him, but the attraction between the two is enough that he doesn’t need to use his powers. Khaz is given full control over the human and has every right to do whatever he wants to him, but the fact is that Khaz’s conscience won’t let him do it makes him very likable. Though this romance was quite dark, I want to have hope for them. I look forward to reading the upcoming installments in this series, and I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that I’ll see Noah and Khaz again. I recommend this book to anyone who loves m/m dark romance and m/m vampire fantasy.

REVIEW:

Epic! I loved every word. I’m so sad that this series is over, but it’s definitely one I’ll be rereading from the beginning. Kings Rising begins exactly where book #2 left off with Damen revealed as Damianos before his men. I thought for sure the tensest part of this book would be when Laurent and Damen faced each other for the first time after Damen’s identity was revealed. That meeting was something completely unexpected, but things got even better afterward. Laurent was back to being untouchable, and I loved seeing the two back together. I also loved the interactions between Damen and his men after they learned he was a slave to Laurent. Though Damen’s character is great, I love Laurent more than everything. He’s still the unbreakable ice queen, and his confidence in the face of everything stacked up against him makes him shine so bright. Just as in book #2 I held my breath through every love scene, and in the end I was all choked up. I couldn’t think of a more spectacular or perfect way to end the series. I highly recommend Captive Prince to anyone who loves m/m fantasy with dark themes, and m/m romance.

— Love is sour like a Sicilian lemon. —

The Family is always right.
The Family doesn’t forget.
The Family pays for blood in blood.

Domenico Acerbi grew up in the shade of Sicilian lemon trees ready to give his life for the Family. Ready to follow orders and exceed expectations. A proud man of honor.
When Seth, the younger son of the Don is kidnapped, it’s Domenico who is sent to get him back. The man he finds though, is not the boy he knew all those years ago. Lazy, annoying, spoiled, and as hot as a Sicilian summer.

Seth Villani wants nothing to do with the mafia. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get a say when the Family pulls him right back into its fold after his mother’s death. Thrown into a den of serpents otherwise known as the Villani Family, Seth has to find a way to navigate in the maze of lies. But when Domenico Acerbi, the most vicious snake of them all, sinks his fangs into Seth, the venom changes into an aphrodisiac that courses through Seth’s veins.

Domenico knows his life is about to change when he gets the order to train Seth up to the role of future Don. Seth isn’t made for it. He isn’t even made. But a man Domenico knows he would never have to fear might just be someone he’s always needed.

If Seth is doomed to follow in his father’s footsteps, he might as well enjoy himself—with the most intoxicating man he’s ever met. Maybe he can even fool himself into believing that Domenico isn’t a handsome sociopath who kills for a living.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS:

Themes: Enemies to lovers, mafia, homophobia, assassin, organized crime

Genre: Dark, twisted erotic romance / crime thriller

Erotic content: Explicit gay sex, coercion

WARNING: Adult content. If you are easily offended, this book is not for you.
‘Guns n’ Boys’ is a gritty story of extreme violence, offensive language, abuse, and morally ambiguous protagonists. Behind the morbid facade, there is a splash of inappropriate dark humor, and a love story that will crawl under your skin.

REVIEW:

This book started out when Seth, the son of a Sicilian mafia don, is kidnapped, held prisoner and mutilated. When he’s rescued by the handsome Dominico, he instantly falls under the beautiful Sicilian’s spell. Seth leaves his boyfriend in the States and follows Dominico to meet Seth’s father, but on the way, things between the two become heated. When Seth discovers his father has named him to be his successor, Seth doesn’t know what to do. However, with Dominico by his side, he might just make it.

This book threw me for a loop. I was intrigued with how the story began. Then I was reading with a crinkled nose, but by the end I liked it again. My main objection was with Seth. I was interested in Seth up until the point when he came into contact with Dominico. At that point, Seth, the self-proclaimed top, became the biggest baby ever. He seemed like the furthest thing possible from what I’d imagine for a future mafia don. I was sure he was going to annoy the crap out of me for the entire book, but instead, his sexual encounters with Dominico just got better and better. Seth turned out to be the hottest reluctant virgin bottom I could imagine. No matter how much he protested, he couldn’t deny how much he loved it. Then he was all sulky about liking it afterword. In addition to finding it hot, I also found a bit of humor to it as well. This book was part 1 of 3, so I expected a cliffhanger. Even though the first part of the book was mostly sex and banter between the two, I was entertained by Dominco’s gradual breakdown of Seth which turned into something sweet by the end. I look forward to seeing how their relationship progresses in the next parts of this book.

RATING:  I liked it!

REVIEW:

Oh my god, this book is truly amazing! My heart is so intertwined with this series. When I read book one I was so frustrated; dying for just one touch, but by the end of this book I was crying. I’m still crying with happiness. Prince’s Gambit picks up where Captive Prince drops off, with Damen accompanying Laurent into battle. Everywhere they turn they are dodging swords and they don’t know exactly who to trust.

I can’t say much without spoilers, so I’ll just say that the ending is breathtaking and spectacular. One note; I think that Laurent is just too smart to not know Damen’s true identity. It just does not seem possible that he doesn’t know. I hope so much that I’m right.  I can’t wait to read book three. It is eating a hole in my Kindle as I type.

In the shifter world, submission means something different than it does to humans.

Ezekiah’s wolf might submit to the first alpha who claims him, but Ezekiah wants more than that. If Parker can see past old prejudices, he might find his omega is more than he expected, and exactly what he needs.

REVIEW:

This book was both thrilling and hot. The story begins when Ezekiah is out in the world on his own and not bound to any pack. Since he’s an omega, things are a little dangerous for him, but he keeps out of trouble by avoiding wolf territory.  However, when circumstances lead him into danger, Ezekiah must run for his life or be claimed against his will by an alpha. Ezekiah is rescued by another alpha named Parker, but Parker’s reputation would be on the line if he let a stray omega go without marking and claiming him.

I really loved this book. I’ve read some other wolf shifter books, but this was by far the best. I loved how Ezekiah struggles to be independent even though his wolf wants to be dominated and knotted by an alpha. The struggle makes the relationship between Parker and Ezekiah extremely tense and erotic. When Ezekiah’s desires finally agrees with his wolf’s, the union between him and his alpha is amazing. I recommend this book to anyone who loves m/m dark erotica, m/m shifter fantasy, and m/m romance.

Anaxantis has his own troubles in the love department.

Soon he will be forced to make some hard decisions. Is he up to it, or will he finally buckle down under the strain?

REVIEW:

Oh, my god, this book is so good. There are so many twists and turns. Although I can’t say much without spoilers, everything was orchestrated perfectly. I was crying at the end and I’m still so happy about how this trilogy concluded. As a side note, Anaxantis reminds me of Alexander the Great in many ways. Anaxanis is a leader who is young and cunning, but also flawed who knows how to make his troops love him. It will be interesting to see how his character progresses. I’ll certainly be reading on because I have to know what comes next. The wrap up was awesome, and the intrigue for the books to come are set. I recommend this series to anyone who loves M/M dark erotica and M/M fantasy with a Middle Ages feel to it. I’m truly in love with this series.
