…and lures them all into danger. (M/M+)

REVIEW:

I had the unique experience of reading the prequel prior to reading this book which made seeing Evan again a great experience. The book begins when Evan’s twin brother, Brennan moves in with him. Since Evan never knew he had a twin brother and had never been used to having someone around, it’s a strange experience for him. Additionally, Evan is attracted to Brennan, which really complicates things. Shortly after his brother moves in Evan meets Alek and they hit it off. At the same time Brennan meets Luka, Alek’s twin brother, and they get together.

The plot of this book could have easily been quite confusing with two sets of identical twins dating each other but each character was so different and unique that it was very easy to keep them all apart even when it came to menage scenes. In addition to loving Evan and Brennan, I was drawn to Alek and Luka’s story which was a bit tumultuous. Overall, this book was extremely hot as well as moving since Evan is still trying to heal from his suicide attempt and all that happened to him. This is the first twincest book I’ve read, but I definitely look forward to reading more.

(New Edited Version)

(A collection of brand new and previously published Kol Anderson taboo shorts. Newly edited and never before seen stories.)

Don’t be Afraid of the Dark

Destiny is a strange thing. It can be fickle at times, and it can make you miss out on incredible connections that would set you on the journey of your lifetime. But the thing is, you’ll never know what you missed out on.

Sometimes Destiny takes pity on you and lets you meet the person you are supposed to, at just the right time. When Jensen first saw Liam, he lost his heart. Even if it took him a while to realize that. It’s okay, though. He had to grow and learn some more before he was the man Liam needed to save him from a life he was trapped in.

Supernatural forces collide to give Jensen the strength he needs to evolve into the man Liam waited his whole life for, and when their souls finally slam into each other, neither will be the same again.

Slave

It’s the worst feeling in the world, seeing him with someone else. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do, no limits I won’t go to get him back. But he won’t give me a chance. He won’t so much as look at me because he thinks I don’t belong to him anymore.
But that’s the whole thing.
I don’t belong anywhere.
Doesn’t matter where I go or who I am with I am always alone. There is something wrong with me, there has to be because no one else seems quite as miserable at being without a master.
But don’t we all owe our freedom to something?
People are slaves, aren’t they? To their jobs, to their partners, to their children, even to their lifestyles?
We all have those little kinks that we don’t tell anyone about, because we think we’re going to be judged for them, and because we’re slaves to society’s rules.
In a world where slavery is the norm I’m a slave to my needs.
To him.
And I need to get him back.

WARNINGS: HARDCORE BDSM, DUB-CON, NON-CON

Sin

Samuel “Sin” Taylor doesn’t know the difference between sex and intimacy, but maybe that’s not his fault. He grew up in a world where it was easier to get physical pleasure than to find love. But as a prostitute working the streets, Sin thinks he’s finally found his true calling. After all sex is the one thing he’s good at, right? But when Isaac enters his life through mere coincidence, Sin finds it a relief to be someone other than Sin.

How long can he keep up the charade?

WARNINGS: DUB-CON, NON-CON, ABUSE, VIOLENCE, DRUG USE

Fugue

Ever felt like the world thinks you’re crazy? Welcome to my world. I tried normal, but eventually the truth catches up to you. Thank God for Evan, he believes me. But no man is a saint, and eventually the stories of aliens and tentacles and kidnappings just become too much for anyone to believe anymore.

But I know what happened. I know what they did to me. The voices are calling me back now. They’re calling me to be with her, my daughter. And I can’t resist it anymore.

WARNINGS: ABUSE, SELF HARM, OFF PAGE NON-CON AND KIDNAPPING, VIOLENCE

REVIEW:

Kol starts out gently, his voice like a lover’s tempting whisper in the dark. His poetry sets the stage for what will be four very different stories within an extremely well-written anthology, and the tone carries on throughout. There’s desperation and hope, desolation and solace; there’s pain and relief, peace and terror. It all goes on through these pages. There are similarities in the four stories, but overall, they couldn’t be more different.

There’s an almost dreamlike quality to these stories, something that lures you in and refuses to let you go until the end. I found myself highlighting line after line of beautiful words that appealed to me and I wanted to remember.

In Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, we get a taste of the paranormal set against the backdrop of a world that seems grim for the characters involved. I want to know more about the characters and the world; my only complaint is that I’m not a huge fan of insta-love angles. But this line: “I don’t need you to feel sorry for me, that’s not what I want. I want you to love me” more than made up for it.

Slave follows the path of a broken-hearted sub whose master turned his back on him, and he tries to find solace anywhere and everywhere he can. There’s a surreal feeling to the entire peace, as though I’m in a dream that I can’t fully awake from. I’m not sure what I like better — the opening poem or the story itself. I loved Jesse, and everything he did felt real throughout the entire piece.

And then there was Sin. Sin isn’t for the faint of heart — and while I don’t consider myself particularly faint of heart, I think mine broke all the same. Those with issues involving incest and rape should steer clear of this one completely. There’s just enough hope to keep my heart from being completely crushed, but I noted at this point that the anthology is steadily darkening.

Finally, there’s Fugue. Fugue isn’t my type of story, but it’s an interesting one all the same. It follows a young man who believes he’s been tortured by aliens and his doctor, who’s desperate to help someone he feels has been failed by others. There are points where you can’t be sure if it’s a sci-fi short or a short on the effects of mental illness, but either way, the effect is profound.

Overall, the taboos mentioned in the tags and above are very much a present part of the stories, but they aren’t dwelled upon for too long. There’s just enough detail to let you know what’s going on, and then Anderson continues with the story: because this is all about the story, not the taboos.

Beautiful writing.

RATING: I loved it! (Even if it is going to haunt me for a while)

5 Star Review: The Billionaire’s Puppy – The Complete Series by D.J. Heart #DarkErotica #MM

The Complete Collection

AUTHOR: D.J. Heart

BLURB:

This collection contains all eighteen installments of the Billionaire’s Puppy series – a dark erotic fantasy featuring extreme bdsm, puppy play, domination, and a handsome billionaire whose moral compass has completely malfunctioned…

Rex is tired of gold diggers and boyfriends who refuse to get kinky with him. He wants someone he can come home to and use however he wants, without all the drama of a relationship. Without having to worry that they’ll say no…

(This 100,000 word erotic series features bondage, puppy play, leather, boot fetish, muscle worship, rough sex and a whole lot more!)

REVIEW:

Merciless and unapologetic, D.J. Heart leads us through the story of Rex, a billionaire who signs a desperate young man up for a year of service doing anything–and I do mean anything–he wants. Rex decides he wants a puppy, and his Chief of Security is more than happy to train Cody to the task of pleasing his master. Max is sadistic, something his employer enjoys more than a little, and he subjects Cody to more and more extreme forms of puppy play as the collection continues.

The pace continues to build with the introduction of Brick, the perpetually horny but flawlessly obedient stud puppy, who makes Cody into his bitch. At this point, we’re introduced to elements of non-consensual service, something that at first worries Rex but eventually turns him on. The kinks are the real deal: puppy play, obviously; dubious consent, non-consent, BDSM, bondage, piss, chastity, and drugging at this point.

Every time Rex starts to get a little restless–and even sometimes before–Max brings in another dynamic for him to play with. This includes two wild pups, Spike and Diablo, who are mostly feral and not well-trained at all. Rex decides to take things a step further, much to Max’s delight; when indulging Cody’s interest in worshiping a sweaty man, he discovers an interest in breath play.

This goes too far for Cody, who so far has been enjoying the kinks to at least some degree. Even his new restrictive rubber suit doesn’t bother him as much as this. I was relieved, admittedly, when both Rex (and Heart) backed off; we got a breather in the next chapter, so to speak, as Cody recovers and Rex considers his future with the same glimmers of humanity we’ve seen of him throughout the book. The rest of the book indulges in pony play and to my disturbed mind, left me feeling like it lightened up a good bit. (If, you know, NC pony play is considered light.)

In the end, this ended almost as–dare I say it?–at the very least a “happily for now” feeling. I think Heart could do more with these characters if he chose to, and I liked the open nature of the end.

Tl;dr version: Light on the plot, heavy on the tropes, hot as fuck. If you’re into dub- and non-con and puppy play, this is a must-read.

I’m honored to welcome Lily G Blunt who is celebrating the release of her taboo novel, Let Your Heart Decide. Excerpt & Giveaway.

EXCERPT:

(From Chapter One – Rhys meets his new neighbour)

The outline of a solitary figure appeared through the frosted glass of the front door. Male, I’d say, and short. Could be a kid.

I opened the stiff door with a deliberate jerk. “Yes?”

A man, probably in his mid-to-late thirties, stood before me. Short and slim, wearing long khaki shorts, sandals—no socks, thank God. His tanned hairy legs drew my attention for a few seconds too long. He held a plastic-wrapped plate in his hands with what seemed like cake on it. He looked pleasant enough, good-looking in an old-fashioned sort of way, and smiling a toothy grin not far from my face.

“Hello, I’m from next door.”

He inclined his head to the left. There was only one house next to mine, as my house was situated at the end of the cul-de-sac on a corner plot, so I gathered he was my neighbour.

“I’ve baked you a cake as a welcome gift.” He offered me the plate. “Hope you like lemon drizzle cake.” He smiled again and his eyes twinkled. Beads of perspiration dotted along his forehead. I took the plate from him before the moisture had a chance to run down his face and drip onto my cake. It was a warm and sunny June day, the first we’d seen in the UK for over a week. Typical! The day I moved house the temperature skyrocketed. Sweat dampened my pits and trickled down my back. I’d been shifting heavy boxes and stuff around for hours.

“Mmm… looks great. Thanks.” I breathed in and got a strong whiff of sweet citrus—from the cake rather than him, I hoped. “That’s very kind of you.”

“I’m Philip,” he said, edging closer. “And you’re very welcome.”

“Hi, I’m Rhys,” I said, standing firm. As nice as he appeared, I was reluctant to budge and let a stranger enter my personal domain.

“How are you settling in?” Philip peered around my shoulder and upper arm, a tricky task since I was a good six inches taller than him. “I would have offered to help you unload your car earlier, but I was mixing the cake at the time.”

I made the mistake of turning and glancing at my cluttered hallway.

Excerpt from Chapter Four

THAT NIGHT my thoughts blurred into dreams as I drifted to sleep, filling my head with memories of when I was a boy. I pictured Jake running with me down grass-topped sand dunes, flying our kites on wispy tufted downs, and rambling over the ruins of some ramshackle old castle. My heart soared in my dreams. I recalled the many nights we told each other ghost stories under the tents we’d constructed from blankets in our bedroom, times we snuggled under our duvets and shone torches under our chins, making scary faces.

In that haze of half-sleep, not sure if I’d slept yet or not, I jerked awake. Yes, wide awake now, not an interrupted dream.

And there it was again.

A cry.

Outside.

And close by.

Not a baby nor a fox, but a man. I lay there, heart thumping, straining to hear in the darkness, trying to pick out the sound and its direction. But nothing came.

In the long quiet that followed, I remembered again how Jake used to hold me when I was scared, or when I came home from school crying because bullies had called me names or pushed me around. He’d stood up for me, protected me, and one day the bullying stopped. I always thought it was because of Jake’s intervention, although he never told me what he did to make it better. I never asked him. One day I would.

The quiet of the night buzzed in my ears.

Maybe the cry was a dream, after all.

The Family is always right.
The Family doesn’t forget.
The Family pays for blood in blood.

When Seth, the younger son of the Don is kidnapped, it’s Domenico who is sent to get him back. The man he finds though, is not the boy he knew all those years ago. Lazy, annoying, spoiled, and as hot as a Sicilian summer.

Seth Villani wants nothing to do with the mafia. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get a say when the Family pulls him right back into its fold after his mother’s death. Thrown into a den of serpents otherwise known as the Villani Family, Seth has to find a way to navigate in the maze of lies. REVIEW:

This book started out when Seth, the son of a Sicilian mafia don, is kidnapped, held prisoner and mutilated. When he’s rescued by the handsome Dominico, he instantly falls under the beautiful Sicilian’s spell. Seth leaves his boyfriend in the States and follows Dominico to meet Seth’s father, but on the way, things between the two become heated. When Seth discovers his father has named him to be his successor, Seth doesn’t know what to do. However, with Dominico by his side, he might just make it.

This book threw me for a loop. I was intrigued with how the story began. Then I was reading with a crinkled nose, but by the end I liked it again. My main objection was with Seth. I was interested in Seth up until the point when he came into contact with Dominico. At that point, Seth, the self-proclaimed top, became the biggest baby ever. He seemed like the furthest thing possible from what I’d imagine for a future mafia don. I was sure he was going to annoy the crap out of me for the entire book, but instead, his sexual encounters with Dominico just got better and better. Seth turned out to be the hottest reluctant virgin bottom I could imagine. No matter how much he protested, he couldn’t deny how much he loved it. Then he was all sulky about liking it afterword. In addition to finding it hot, I also found a bit of humor to it as well. This book was part 1 of 3, so I expected a cliffhanger. Even though the first part of the book was mostly sex and banter between the two, I was entertained by Dominco’s gradual breakdown of Seth which turned into something sweet by the end. I look forward to seeing how their relationship progresses in the next parts of this book.

RATING:  I liked it!

Review: Only the Lonely (Twin Ties) by Lynn Kelling #Taboo #MM

TITLE: Only the Lonely Only the Lonely

SERIES:  Twin Ties (Prequel)

AUTHOR:  Lynn Kelling

PUBLISHER: Fantastic Fiction Publishing

LENGTH: 55 Pages

BLURB:

Evan Savage is a young teen desperately searching for something to hold on to and a way to be noticed. Living in rural Whippoorwill, Pennsylvania, his only family is an absentee father who leaves Evan alone for days at a time while away for work. Friendless and bullied at school, with only a nearby preacher named Jimmy to look out for him; Evan gratefully accepts attention wherever and however he gets it. Sometimes it feels like part of him is missing, and every day the void consumes more of Evan’s ability to fight back against his circumstances. While looking at himself in the mirror within a recurring dream, his reflection keeps reaching out to him with happiness he doesn’t feel, from a world different than his own, though much less tangible. Anonymous sexual encounters with strange men satisfy Evan’s need for company and reassurance that he’s someone worth wanting, as well as test his boundaries. But, faced with the growing temptation to slip away for good, it’s up to Jimmy, and Evan’s dream-world counterpart, to try to keep him there. (Prequel to the Twin Ties series, M/M)

REVIEW:

Wow! I don’t even know where to begin. This book was a heart breaker and among the most taboo book I’ve ever read. The story begins with Evan seeking out companionship from older men. He’s only fourteen, but he has no friends and his father is always away. Evan realizes what he’s doing is risky, but he feels like it’s his only way of having some kind of connection with another human being. When he goes out on a date with a man who seems to show genuine interest in him, Evan feels like he can let his guard down. However happiness does not seem to be in the cards for him.

I’m so glad that this book is a prequel and several books in this series are already published. If they weren’t, the ending would be way too painful to accept. In addition to the tears and heartbreak, this book touched on taboo subjects that most authors wouldn’t dare touch with a ten foot pole. I commend the author for her daring, but also since it was so well written. Instead of being titillating, the erotic scenes make the danger and desperation of what he’s doing even more intense.  Evan is seeking out older men in order to have some kind of companionship, but at the same time he knows what they’ll expect and he’s clearly afraid. He tries to trust, but Evan knows at any moment a man could overpower him and take what he’s not willing to give. The fact that he doesn’t view them as predators, or at least he tries not to, makes his situation even more tragic. Though the ending is devastating, the story is so compelling that I have to read on. I really want Evan to find someone who will love him and not just take advantage of him. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I highly recommend Only the Lonely to anyone who loves taboo m/m erotica  with a lot of angst.

REVIEW:

Oh, my god, this book is so good. There are so many twists and turns. Although I can’t say much without spoilers, everything was orchestrated perfectly. I was crying at the end and I’m still so happy about how this trilogy concluded. As a side note, Anaxantis reminds me of Alexander the Great in many ways. Anaxanis is a leader who is young and cunning, but also flawed who knows how to make his troops love him. It will be interesting to see how his character progresses. I’ll certainly be reading on because I have to know what comes next. The wrap up was awesome, and the intrigue for the books to come are set. I recommend this series to anyone who loves M/M dark erotica and M/M fantasy with a Middle Ages feel to it. I’m truly in love with this series.

RATING: Absolutely crazy about it! I will read it again someday!

Byron is tall, handsome, well spoken, wealthy, and has outstanding taste in wine and food. You’ll be impressed by his impeccable attire and eloquence in conversation, ranging from Baroque art to the newest advances in pharmacology. With his charming smile and elegant manners, Byron truly is the perfect date… and who doesn’t love a man who appreciates opera?

What’s the catch, you ask?

Just this: if Byron finds you suitable, he will subject you to utterly depraved forms of torture.

No, I’m not talking about S&M.

Byron will mutilate, rape, and then kill you. Don’t think that you will survive the encounter, because you won’t. He has a perfect record.

Intrigued? Would you like me to arrange a rendezvous? It has to be in the next few days because he’s leaving on a trip south to much warmer climes, and his calendar will be completely full.

Yes? Very good. I will make a reservation for two under the name of Smith.

Who am I? I’m Gloria, his personal assistant.

RATING: Cringing but crazy about it!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Artist, Writer, Dog Lover – http://www.beydeckard.com

Born and raised in a small coastal town in northern Québec, Bey spent his early summers on his uncle’s boat and running wild on the beaches of the surrounding islands, lighting fires and building huts out of driftwood and fishermen’s nets. As an adult, he eventually made his way to university and earned a degree in Art History with a strong focus on Anthropology. Primarily a portrait painter and graphic artist, Bey sat down one day and decided to start writing.

Bey currently lives in the wilds of Montréal with his best buddy, a ridiculous, spotty pit bull named Murphy.

Educated in Art, History, and Anthropology. Worked mostly in the software industry. Currently an author and freelance graphic designer. Painter. Proud pit bull owner. I’m told I’m one helluva cook.

Started to write in 2014. Love it. Will keep doing it until I stop.

I mainly read KGB/CIA thrillers, science fiction, fantasy, horror, graphic novels, medical texts, nautical history
