LENGTH:     264

BLURB:

For five years, Zach Tyler, son of one of the world’s richest software moguls, was held hostage, tortured, and abused. When he is rescued at last from the Venezuelan jungle, he is physically and psychologically shattered, but he slowly begins to rebuild the life he should have had before an innocent kiss sent him into hell. His childhood best friend David has lived those years with overwhelming guilt and grief. Every relationship David has tried has fallen apart because of his feelings for a boy he thought dead. When Zach is rescued, David is overjoyed—and then crushed when Zach shuts him out. Two years later, David returns home, and he and Zach must come to terms with the rift between them, what they feel for each other, and what their future could hold. But Zach has secrets, and one of them might well destroy their fragile love.

REVIEW:

I loved this book. I wasn’t trying to read something addictive but I was drawn in right away. Finding Zach is so much more than your average m/m love story. Zach and David practically grew up together but right after discovering they their attraction for one another, Zach is kidnapped by a Central American warlord and is kept prisoner for five years. The story begins at Zach’s rescue and continues through his recovery. After all that happened, it’s truly heartbreaking and wonderful to see Zach and David come together. This is a couple that I’d like to see again. There was a happy ending, but I was sad when the book ended.

RATING: I loved it!

Book Review: Reifu Rising

TITLE:     Reifu Rising8039386

AUTHOR:     Becca Abbott

PUBLISHER:     Fan Fiction

LENGTH:     424 Pages

BLURB:

This is a sci-fi/vamp story. It’s about visitors to a new world, running from their enemies, inhabited by primitive humans living by strict religious rules. After an illegal human hunt Sid,a thief, is taken by the Crown Prince, Loki, as a pet. What ensues is a great adventure encompassing the vampires, the humans who live without technology and a secret group trying to rule over everyone.

Loki was an ilthiyan prince, one of the vampire race who existed uneasily with the humans on the planet of Gaia. In the middle of a hunt on human lands, he captured a spirited young human male. Sid was a thief and an outcast, and to be captured by a vampire seemed only the latest misfortune in a life defined by them. But Loki decided to keep Sid instead of kill him and that decision would thrust them both into a whirlwind of treachery, intrigue — and love.

REVIEW:

Such an awesome book; I loved it. Although Sid lives in a world where vampires colonize humans for their food source, Sid is far from being livestock. He is wild and strangely appealing to the vampire prince Loki who captures him. I wondered at first if Stockholm Syndrome was at play, but there seems to be something more biological, like a chemical reaction. If love was a drug, this is the only way to really describe it. I was completely drawn in by Loki’s transformation as a character. His ability to put himself in Sid’s shoes and to realize the hurt he caused him was heartbreaking and perfect. I was also drawn to Sid’s pain and insecurities as well as his ability to submit even though it was not what Loki asked of him. This book was full of action and had a solid plot within a very vivid and appealing world, but the main appeal was the love between Loki and Sid. If only there was a sequel.

RATING: Crazy about it! I will read it again!

Book Review: The Claiming of Eve

TITLE: The Claiming of Evethe claiming of eve

SERIES: Taboo Tales of Paranormal Kink #2

AUTHOR:     Bella Swann

PUBLISHER:     Bella Swann Erotica

LENGTH:     58 pages

BLURB:

This is a very dark, erotic interpretation of the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and their Paradise Lost. It begins with Adam and Eve in a state of innocence. Through a series of increasingly lustful BDSM encounters with paranormal creatures such as Raphael, Lilith, Lucifer, and Michael, Eve falls into sin and takes her loving husband with her. Warning: This is a work of fiction that contains sexually explicit materials meant for those over the age of 18 and contains elements of dubious consent, dominant male, submissive female, and ménages.

REVIEW:

Shocking, unbelievably hot, and full of tantalizing surprises. This has to be my favorite Bella Swann story yet. In this erotic retelling of the Adam and Eve story, Eve goes a lot further than biting the apple. The story begins with Adam receiving advice from the angel, Raphael, on how to master his wife’s wanton flesh. When Eve protests that Adam’s sexual desires are unnatural, Raphael steps in to assist in her training. Eve submits to her role, but when Adam leaves with Raphael, Eve has an encounter with Lilith and then with the Devil who tempts her to eat of the forbidden fruit. After discovering Eve’s transgressions, Adam and the angels have no choice but to punish her.

Though this story is extremely erotic, there were so many instances that I was so shocked by the sexual situations that I had to laugh. I just couldn’t believe it. With that said, this story is not for the religiously sensitive. With angel sex, devil sex, and a mélange of FF, MMM, and MMMF, the daring of the sexual situations is in this story is ingenious. Whenever I thought it couldn’t get better, it did.

LENGTH:     151

BLURB:

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. In order to save his sister, he sold his body. To save his family, he sold his future and finally to save his love, he sold his soul.

REVIEW:

Extremely emotional. As a young boy of fourteen, Brant saves his sisters from prostitution by offering himself up in their place. Though he is used daily for years to pay off his father’s debt, Brant falls in love with his master and pimp, Wilber. At the end of his contract, Wilber offers another deal, but nothing is as it appears. Wilber had been his protector for all these years, but Brant finds that Wilber cannot protect him from everything. His sacrifice to his family has led him down a violent road of abuse and there’s no coming back. Though this book has a happy ending, I was dismayed by the lack of justice for those who hurt and used Brant.

RATING: Really liked it!

Tired of his people being persecuted under the tyranny of the sitting king, Torhild is determined to conquer the land he believes is rightfully his. The unexpected intruder challenges not only his plans but also his self control.

REVIEW:

I really loved this book. The story begins when Gunnvor is sent off by the king to catch a deer, but while he is away he is captured by a rebel leader, Torhild. The subsequent slave/master relationship between the two men is violent and extremely sexy. Though the sexual encounters start out forced, their attraction is so strong that the encounters always end with both parties fully enjoying every moment. This story has some twists along the way and ends in a suspenseful way. I look forward to reading the next book and finding out what becomes of Gunnvor and his relationship with Torhild.

RATING: I enjoyed it 🙂

Book Review: Chase and Capture by Hurri Cosmo

Title: Chase and CaptureChase and Capture

Author: Hurri Cosmo

Publisher: Amber Allure Publishing

Length: 116 pages

Blurb:

It was only a game, right? An adult twist on “Capture the Flag”. Very adult, actually. Especially the “flag” and where it went. In fact, the only similarity between the kid version and the adult version was you still needed to capture your opponent’s flag to win. So how the hell had Camden ended up here? Oh yeah, that’s right, Tanner, Camden’s good buddy from college. He was not going to let Camden waste another birthday. In fact, he was hell bent on getting Camden laid. So much so, the idiot set up this entire weekend gig. And that’s where Camden found himself now; on a remote island, crashing through the woods, playing a chase and capture game, trying like hell to stay ahead of his pursuer. But why was he the one being chased? Why was Camden the prey and that big, sexy, dark haired, muscle bound, relentless god of a man, Gunner, the hunter? It should be the other way around because it was Camden’s birthday, damn it! Well, thankfully there were going to be three rounds played because it looked like Camden was going down before even reaching the first check point. Yep. Going down on all fours, flag confiscated and…well, let’s just say he would be screwed.

So… what was the down side of losing again?

Review:

This book was exciting and had a interesting twist as well as a happy ending. Chase and Capture is a romance centered around a group of friends who decide to participate in a kinky version of capture the flag. Camden had not been in a relationship since he had a restraining order put on his X-boyfriend for violent stalker behavior. So, when his friends invite Camden to participate in a sex game on an island resort, he doesn’t refuse. He’s not the one for causal sex or one night stands, but he needs something to bring him out of his rut. When the game begins, a sexy, X-military man, Gunner, captures Camden’s attention, and later captures him in in the woods. Since Camden was hoping for that outcome, their sex is intense and amazing. Though Camden and Gunner hit it off, something doesn’t seem right about the game. There appear to be players in the woods that were not present in the reception.

I was drawn to the premise of this book. Although I wasn’t expecting a romantic playful union as a result of the chase, I was in no way disappointed. I really enjoyed the tension caused by the hidden dangers in the woods and what they didn’t know about the other players. There was always the potential for things to go wrong, but when the danger finally presents itself, it’s something that’s entirely unexpected. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a little danger, light BDSM, and kink sprinkled in with M/M romance.

*I was provided a copy of this book by Indigo Street Team in exchange for an honest review.

RATING: I liked it 🙂
